THE DEPARTMENT MAY ACQUIRE LAND OUT OF MONEY

STANDING TO THE CREDIT OF THE FOREST RESERVE FUND FOR

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ANY STATE FOREST NURSERY TO GROW

FOREST TREES FOR PLANTING ON STATE RESERVES AND

DISTRIBUTION TO PRIVATE LANDOWNERS TO ENCOURAGE TREE

PLANTING UNDER THE RULES AND REGULATIONS IT
PROMULGATES.

reference to $5 per acre is proposed for
deletion as obsolete. The only other

5-411. LEVIES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY COUNTY FOR TREE
PLANTING AND CARE.

A COUNTY MAY LEVY AND APPROPRIATE MONEY FOR
PURPOSES OF TREE PLANTING, CARE OF TREES, AND FOREST
PROTECTION, IMPROVEMENT, MANAGEMENT, AND PURCHASE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Article 66C, section 350 of the Code. The
reference to the boards of county
commissioners is proposed for deletion
since that is not the governing body in all
counties. It is sufficient only to use the
term "county" when generally granting the
particular authority. It will be exercised
by whatever county governing body could
exercise it. The only other changes made
are in style.
