718                                       LAWS OF MARYLAND                            [Ch.

THE CAPTAIN OR MASTER OF ANY BOAT LICENSED TO
TAKE HARD-SHELL CLAMS WITH A HANDSCRAPE, SHINNECOCK
RAKE, OR BY HYDRAULIC OR MECHANICAL DREDGE IN TANGIER
OR POCOMOKE SOUNDS, SHALL HAVE THE PERTINENT LICENSE
ON BOARD HIS BOAT AND SHALL EXHIBIT IT ON DEMAND TO
ANY NATURAL RESOURCES POLICE OFFICER, LAW ENFORCEMENT
OFFICER, OR DULY AUTHORIZED EMPLOYEE OF THE
DEPARTMENT. EACH PERSON WHEN WORKING ON A BOAT
CATCHING CLAMS WITH A HANDSCRAPE, SHINNECOCK RAKE, OR
HYDRAULIC OR MECHANICAL DREDGE SHALL POSSESS THE
APPROPRIATE LICENSE ISSUED TO HIM PURSUANT TO THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS TITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Article 66C, section 712(f)(7) of the Code.
To incorporate the provisions of Article
66C, section 712A(g), new language is added
to make this section applicable to
hard-shell clam dredging licenses. The
provisions making this section applicable
to handscrapes and hydraulic and mechanical
dredges is retained. The provisions of
section 698 (b) are limited to the issuance
of licenses and, therefore, do not
supersede this section.

New language is added to indicate that
licenses shall be exhibited to Natural
Resources Police officers to reflect the
responsibility of the Natural Resources
Police Force, created by Chapter 348, Acts
of 1972, for enforcement of the natural
resources laws. The reference to present
section 712(a) is proposed for deletion
since this section is proposed for deletion
above. New language is added requiring the
worker to possess the appropriate license
for the device he is using to catch
oysters.

The only other changes made are in style.
4-1026. REVOCATION OR SUSPENSION OF LICENSE.

IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER PENALTY PROVIDED IN THIS
TITLE, THE DEPARTMENT MAY REVOKE OR SUSPEND FOR NOT
LESS THAN TEN DAYS, ANY HANDSCRAPE, SHINNECOCK RAKE,
OR HARD-SHELL CLAM DREDGING LICENSE, AFTER A HEARING
ON AT LEAST TEN DAYS NOTICE TO THE LICENSEE, ON THE
FOLLOWING GROUNDS:
