712                                       LAWS OF MARYLAND                            [Ch.

(2)    BUSHEL TUB - 16 1/2 INCHES ACROSS THE
BOTTOM, 18 INCHES ACROSS THE TOP, AND 21 INCHES
DIAGONALLY FROM THE INSIDE CHIME TO THE TOP;

(3)    BUSHEL AND A HALF TUB - 18 INCHES
ACROSS THE BOTTOM, 19 INCHES ACROSS THE TOP, AND 24
INCHES DIAGONALLY FROM THE INSIDE CHIME TO THE TOP;
AND

(4)   THREE BUSHEL TUB - 22 INCHES ACROSS
THE BOTTOM, 24 INCHES ACROSS THE TOP, AND 29.26 INCHES
DIAGONALLY FROM THE INSIDE CHIME TO THE TOP.

ALL OYSTERS MEASURED IN THE SHELL AS REQUIRED BY
THIS SECTION SHALL BE EVEN MEASURE TO THE TOP OF THE
TUB ONLY.

(B)    MEASUREMENT OF OYSTERS FROM SHUCKERS. - DUE
TO THE QUANTITY OF WATER CONTAINED IN MEASURES OF
NEWLY SHUCKED OYSTERS, ANY PROPRIETOR OR MANAGES OF A
PLANT, HOUSE, OR ESTABLISHMENT SHALL MEASURE OYSTERS
AS RECEIVED FROM THE SHUCKERS IN A SPECIAL GALLON CUP
WHICH CONTAINS NO MORE THAN NINE PINTS. ANY DEVICE
OTHER THAN THIS NINE PINT GALLON CUP BAY NOT BE USED
TO MEASURE ANY OYSTERS RECEIVED FROM SHUCKERS. A
NATURAL RESOURCES POLICE OFFICER SHALL STAMP EVERY
NINE PINT GALLON MEASURE USED IN MEASURING NEWLY
SHUCKED OYSTERS. A PROPRIETOR OR MANAGER OF ANY
HOUSE, PLANT, OR ESTABLISHMENT WHICH SHOCKS OYSTERS
SHALL HAVE EVERY NINE PINT GALLON MEASURE STAMPED.

(C)    MEASURES FOR SALE OF SHUCKED OYSTERS. -
EVERY SHUCKED OYSTER SOLD IN THE STATE SHALL BE SOLD
BY THE STANDARD UNITED STATES ONE-HALF PINT, PINT,
QUART, OR GALLON LIQUID MEASURE, OR BY FRACTIONS OR
MULTIPLES OF THESE LIQUID MEASURES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) presently appears
as Article 66C, section 706 (a) of the Code.
In subsection (b) which presently appears
as Article 66C, section 706 (b) of the Code,
the reference to "officer of the State" is
changed to "Natural Resources Police
Officers". Chapter 348, Acts of 1972
created the force and charged it with
enforcing the provisions of this Article.

Subsection (c) presently appears as Article
66C, section 706 (c).

Section 706(d) appears in section 4—1007,
