4-603. SEASONS TO CATCH FISH FROM NONTIDAL WATERS.

PURSUANT TO §4-602 (A) , THE DEPARTMENT SHALL
ESTABLISH AND PUBLISH BY OCTOBER 25 EACH YEAR OPEN
SEASONS TO CATCH THE FOLLOWING GAME AND FRESHWATER
FISH FOR THE ENSUING YEAR:

(1)  BASS (LARGEMOUTH BASS, SMALLMOUTH BASS)

(2)  PIKE, PICKEREL

(3)  WALLEYE

(4)  ROCKFISH (STRIPED BASS)

(5)  TROUT (BROOK, BROWN, RAINBOW)

(6)  SHAD, HICKORY SHAD AND HERRING

(7)  SUCKERS, CATFISH, CARP, EEL, GUDGEON; ALL
SPECIES      OF SUNFISH, INCLUDING BLUEGILLS, ROCK BASS

(COMMONLY KNOWN AS REDEYE), FALLFISH, CRAPPIE, PERCH
(WHITE AND YELLOW) .

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Article 66C, section 207 of the Code.
Nomenclatural changes reflect chapter 348,
Acts of 1972. The open season dates listed
in the right hand column are proposed for
deletion as unnecessary. Each date listed
is for the entire year and the section
already provides for the department to set
season dates within the whole year. The
list of type of fish is retained however,
because the authority of the section only
applies to them. The only other changes
made are in style.

4-604. ANGLER'S LICENSE - IN GENERAL.

(A)   INTENT OF SECTION. - THIS SECTION PROVIDES A
FUND TO     PAY THE EXPENSE OF PROTECTING AND MANAGING
GAME AND   FRESHWATER FISH AND PREVENTING UNAUTHORIZED
PERSONS     FROM FISHING OR ATTEMPTING TO FISH FOR ANY
GAME AND   FRESHWATER FISH WITHOUT FIRST PROCURING AN
ANGLER'S LICENSE.

(B)    RESIDENT DEFINED. - FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS
SECTION, A RESIDENT MEANS A PERSON WHO RESIDES IN THE
STATE ON THE DATE HE APPLIES FOR A LICENSE. A
MEMBER OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES WHO IS
ON ACTIVE DUTY AND STATIONED OFFICIALLY IN THE STATE
IS CONSIDERED A RESIDENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS
SECTION.
