SAME FISH ARE NO LONGER THREATENED WITH STATEWIDE
EXTINCTION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears
as paragraph (4) of Article 66C, section
125(c) of the Code. The only changes made
are in style.

(F)   SECRETARY MAY PERMIT CATCHING, EXPORTING,
TRANSPORTING, OR POSSESSING OF FISH THREATENED WITH
EXTINCTION FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES. —SUBJECT TO ANY
FEDERAL LAW OR REGULATION, OR ANY OTHER STATE LAW, THE
SECRETARY BY RULE OR REGULATION, MAY PERMIT THE
CATCHING, EXPORTING, TRANSPORTING, OR POSSESSING OF
ANY FISH THREATENED WITH STATEWIDE EXTINCTION, FOR
ZOOLOGICAL, EDDCATIONAL, OR SCIENTIFIC PURPOSES, AND
FOR PROPAGATING THE FISH IN CAPTIVITY FOR PRESERVATION
PURPOSES.

as Article 66C, section 125(e) of the Code.

(G)    RESEARCH ON ENDANGERED SPECIES; PROGRAM FOR

CONSERVATION.--THE SECRETARY SHALL CONDUCT RESEARCH

ON THE ENDANGERED SPECIES OF FISH IN THE STATE, AND
SHALL UTILIZE THE LAND ACQUISITION AND OTHER
AUTHORITIES VESTED IN HIS OFFICE TO CARRY OUT A
PROGRAM IN THE STATE FOR CONSERVING, PROTECTING,
RESTORING, AND PROPAGATING SELECTED STATE ENDANGERED
FISH SPECIES. IN ADDITION TO THE LAND ACQUISITION
AUTHORITIES VESTED IN HIS OFFICE, THE SECRETARY MAY
ACQUIRE BY PURCHASE, DONATION, OR OTHERWISE, LAND OR
INTEREST IN LAND NEEDED TO CARRY OUT THE PURPOSES OF
THIS SECTION RELATING TO CONSERVATION, PROTECTION,
RESTORATION, AND PROPAGATION OF SELECTED STATE
ENDANGERED FISH SPECIES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears
as Article 66C, section 125(f)(1) of the
Code. It is made a separate subsection for
organizational clarity. The only other
changes made are in style.

(H) duties of governor. - the governor shall

REVIEW OTHER PROGRAMS HE ADMINISTERS AND, TO THE
EXTENT FEASIBLE, UTILIZE THE PROGRAMS TO FURTHER THE
PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION. THE GOVERNOR ALSO SHALL
ENCOURAGE OTHER STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES TO UTILIZE
THEIR AUTHORITIES TO FURTHER THE PURPOSES OF THIS
SECTION.
