2-307. RULES AND REGULATIONS TO PRESERVE SITES,
OBJECTS, AND MATERIALS.
THE SURVEY MAY ADOPT AND PROMULGATE RULES AND
REGULATIONS REGARDING PRESERVATION OF SITES, OBJECTS,
AND MATERIALS OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE FOR THE
PEOPLE OF THE STATE.

2-308. SURVEY MAY ACCEPT GIFTS.
THE SURVEY MAY ACCEPT ANY INTER VIVOS OR
TESTAMENTARY GIFT FOR ANY PURPOSE WITHIN ITS
JURISDICTION. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED BY THE
DONOR, THE SURVEY MAY EXPEND BOTH PRINCIPAL AND INCOME
OF ANY INTER VIVOS OR TESTAMENTARY GIFT OF MONEY FOR
ITS PURPOSES OR INVEST IT IN WHOLE OR IN PART IN
GENERAL OBLIGATIONS OF THE STATE.

references to legacies, bequests and
endowments, is proposed for deletion and
the words "inter vivos" or "testamentary"
are substituted in order to include any
gift in the legal sense of that word. For

2-309. OWNERSHIP AND DEPOSIT OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL
OBJECTS AND MATERIALS.
ANY OBJECT OR MATERIAL OF HISTORICAL OR
ARCHAEOLOGICAL VALUE OR INTEREST FOUND ON AN
ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OR LAND OWNED OR CONTROLLED BY THE
STATE IS THE PROPERTY OF THE STATE. IT SHALL BE
DEPOSITED FOR PERMANENT PRESERVATION IN A REPUTABLE
MUSEUM, INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION, OR WITH A
