EACH DISTRICT AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE JUDGE FOR THAT
DISTRICT. THE ADMINISTRATIVE JUDGE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
THE ADMINISTRATION, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF THE
COURT IN THAT DISTRICT AND FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE
COURT'S BUSINESS. SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE
CHIEF JUDGE OF THE DISTRICT COURT, THE DISTRICT COURT
OF ANY DISTRICT MAY BE DIVIDED INTO CIVIL, CRIMINAL,
TRAFFIC, OR OTHER FUNCTIONAL DIVISIONS IF THE WORK OF
THE COURT REQUIRES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Sec. 1-607 presently appears as
Art. 26, §143(a).

Subsections (b) and (c) of §143 are
incorporated in §1—605. The only changes
made are in style.

SEC. 1-608. COST OF SYSTEM AND DISPOSITION OF
REVENUES.

(A) GENERAL.

THE COST OF MAINTENANCE, OPERATION, AND
ADMINISTRATION, AND OF PROVIDING NECESSARY FACILITIES,
INCLUDING CAPITAL COSTS, OF THE DISTRICT COURT SHALL
BE BORNE EXCLUSIVELY BY THE STATE, AND, EXCEPT AS
PROVIDED IN TITLE 7 OF THIS ARTICLE, OR OTHERWISE
EXPRESSLY BY LAW, ALL REVENUES DERIVED FROM THE
OPERATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE COURT SHALL ENURE
TO THE GENERAL FUNDS OF THE STATE.

(E) BUDGET.

THE COSTS LISTED IN SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS
SECTION SHALL BE INCLUDED AND ITEMIZED IN THE ANNUAL
STATE BUDGET OR IN THE ANNUAL CONSTRUCTION LOAN AS
SUBMITTED TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY BY THE GOVERNOR AND
SUBJECT TO THE POWER OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY WITH
RESPECT TO BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Sec. 1—608 presently appears as
Art. 26, §151, as amended by Ch. 181, Acts
of 1972. Title 7 of the Courts Article
deals with the details of court costs. The
phrase "or otherwise expressly by law"
immediately following the reference to
Title 7 in subsection (a) is intended to
avoid the inadvertent implied repeal of
provisions like Art. 27, §468(i) (Ch. 556,
Acts of 1972) which will not be included in
Title 7, but which provides for local
