enactment of this act is proposed for

commercial fertilizer law in the State. The
only other changes made are in style.
SUBTITLE 3. AGRICULTURAL LIMING MATERIALS AND GYPSUM.
SEC. 6-301. DEFINITIONS.
(A) IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
used as the standard introductory sentence to
a definition section.
(B) "AGRICULTURAL LIMING MATERIALS" MEANS ANY
SUBSTANCE THAT CONTAINS CALCIUM AND MAGNESIUM IN
CONDITION AND QUANTITY SUITABLE FOR USE IN
NEUTRALIZING SOIL ACIDITY, OR THAT IS USED AS AN
INGREDIENT OR REAGENT IN THE PREPARATION OF ANY
FUNGICIDE OR INSECTICIDE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
derived from the first sentence of Art. 48,
§141 of the Code, which is proposed for
deletion, infra.
(C) "GYPSUM" MEANS ANY PRODUCT THAT CONSISTS
CHIEFLY OF CALCIUM SULPHATE AND IS INTENDED FOR USE
FOR AGRICULTURAL PURPOSES.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
derived from the second sentence of Art. 48,
§141 of the Code, which is proposed for
deletion, infra. Language is added to
indicate that this term refers only to gypsum
intended for use for agricultural purposes
and, thus, excludes gypsum used for
construction purposes.
SEC. 6-302. RULES AND REGULATIONS.
THE SECRETARY MAY ADOPT AND ENFORCE REASONABLE
RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATING TO THE SALE OF
AGRICULTURAL LIMING MATERIALS OR GYPSUM NECESSARY TO
CARRY INTO EFFECT THE FULL INTENT AND MEANING OF THIS
SUBTITLE.
