ESTABLISHMENT ENGAGED IN SLAUGHTERING OR PROCESSING
SOLELY FOR INTRASTATE COMMERCE POULTRY AND POULTRY
PRODUCTS CAPABLE OF USE AS HUMAN FOOD AND INSPECTED
UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: Art. 43, §197-4(v) is proposed
for deletion and new language derived from
Art. 43, §197-7 is added to indicate
explicitly the definition of an official
establishment. Under the present statute
an official establishment is one where the
State inspection takes place. Art. 43,
§197-7 provides that State inspection
occurs only at establishments slaughtering
or preparing poultry capable of use as
human food solely for intrastate commerce.
Consequently, this definition to be
complete must include both concepts.
Revised §1-206, derived from present
§197-12, sets forth the types of
establishments not subject to inspection,
thus indicating these are not official
establishments.
(S) "OFFICIAL INSPECTION LEGEND" MEANS ANY
SYMBOL, PRESCRIBED BY DEPARTMENTAL RULES AND
REGULATIONS, THAT SHOWS AN ARTICLE WAS INSPECTED FOR
WHOLESOMENESS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS SUBTITLE.

(T) "OFFICIAL MARK" MEANS THE OFFICIAL
INSPECTION LEGEND OR ANY OTHER SYMBOL, PRESCRIBED BY
DEPARTMENTAL RULES AND REGULATIONS, TO IDENTIFY THE
STATUS OF ANY ARTICLE OR POULTRY UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.

(U) "PESTICIDE CHEMICAL" HAS THE SAME MEANING AS
UNDER THE FEDERAL FOOD, DRUG, AND COSMETIC ACT.

(V) "POULTRY PRODUCT" MEANS ANY POULTRY CARCASS,
OR PART OF IT; OR ANY PRODUCT WHICH IS MADE WHOLLY OR
