intrastate commerce livestock, their
carcasses, parts of them, or meat food
products capable of use as human food is
omitted in light of the definition of
"official establishment" set forth in
§4-101 (s).
Subsection (b) presently appears as the
first sentence of Art. 66C, §470F(e) of the
Code.
A reference to "meat" is added because meat
is inspected at official establishments.
Subsection (c) presently appears as the
last two sentences of Art. 66C, §470F(e) of
the Code. New language is added in
subsection (c) to indicate explicitly that
the appellant bears the cost of the "appeal
inspection".
Subsection (d) is new language derived from
Art. 66C, §470F(d) of the Code.
The only other changes made are in style.
SEC. 4-109. OPERATIONS NOT SUBJECT TO INSPECTION
REQUIREMENT; EXCEPTIONS.
(A) OPERATIONS NOT SUBJECT TO INSPECTION
REQUIREMENT.
THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE REQUIRING
INSPECTION OF THE SLAUGHTER OF LIVESTOCK AND THE
PREPARATION OF THE CARCASS, PART OF IT, MEAT, OR MEAT
FOOD PRODUCT AT ANY ESTABLISHMENT CONDUCTING THESE
OPERATIONS DO NOT APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING:
(1) SLAUGHTER BY ANY PERSON OF LIVESTOCK
HE RAISES, PREPARATION BY HIM AND TRANSPORTATION IN
INTRASTATE COMMERCE OF ANY CARCASS, PART OF IT, OR
MEAT OR MEAT FOOD PRODUCT OF LIVESTOCK, IF USED
EXCLUSIVELY BY THE OWNER, HIS HOUSEHOLD, OR ANY
NONPAYING GUEST OR EMPLOYEE;
(2) CUSTOM SLAUGHTER BY ANY PERSON OF
CATTLE, SHEEP, SWINE, OR GOATS DELIVERED BY THE OWNER
FOR SLAUGHTER, AND THE PREPARATION AND TRANSPORTATION
IN INTRASTATE COMMERCE BY THE SLAUGHTERER OF ANY
CARCASS, PART OF IT, OR MEAT OR MEAT FOOD PRODUCT OF
LIVESTOCK, IF USED EXCLUSIVELY BY THE OWNER, HIS
