FROZEN FOOD LOCKER ASSOCIATION, INC.; AND
(7) FOUR REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
SLAUGHTERING AND PROCESSING INDUSTRY, TWO APPOINTED
FROM THE STATE AT LARGE AND TWO FROM BALTIMORE CITY.
THE SECRETARY SHALL DESIGNATE THE ELEVENTH MEMBER
WHO SHALL BE AN EX OFFICIO MEMBER POSSESSING ALL THE
RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF THE OTHER COUNCIL MEMBERS,
EXCEPT THE RIGHT TO VOTE.
(D) CHAIRMAN; MEETINGS; CLERICAL HELP;
COMPENSATION.
THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL SHALL SELECT THE
CHAIRMAN FROM AMONG THE MEMBERS. THE CHAIRMAN SHALL
CALL MEETINGS OF THE COUNCIL. THE COUNCIL SHALL ALSO
APPOINT A SECRETARY AND OTHER CLERKS, WITH THE
SALARIES PROVIDED IN THE ANNUAL STATE BUDGET. THE
MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL SHALL RECEIVE NO SALARY AS
MEMBERS, BUT SHALL BE REIMBURSED FOR REASONABLE
EXPENSES INCURRED IN ATTENDING MEETINGS AND OTHER
BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL.
(E) RECOMMENDATIONS.
THE COUNCIL SHALL SUBMIT ITS RECOMMENDATIONS IN
WRITING TO THE SECRETARY THROUGH ITS EXECUTIVE
OFFICER. THE EXECUTIVE OFFICER SHALL NOTIFY THE
COUNCIL OF THE SECRETARY'S ACTION ON THE
RECOMMENDATIONS.
REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) is new language
derived from Art. 66C, §470E (a) of the
Code. Subsection (b) is new language
derived from Art. 66C, §470E(b) of the
Code. Subsection (c) is new language
derived from Art. 66C, §470E(c) of the
Code. The present reference to the
Department of Health is omitted and a
reference to the Department of Health and
Mental Hygiene is added in light of its
creation by Ch. 77, Acts of 1969. In
subparagraph (2), the reference to the
Bureau of Meat Inspection of Baltimore City
is proposed for deletion because it was
abolished in 1970; See Art. 66C, §470W(b).
The present reference in §470—I (c) to the
representative of the now abolished
Agricultural Advisory Board is omitted and
a reference to a representative of the
