DEFINED IN §6-101 (D).
(B) LEGISLATIVE INTENT.
GARBAGE FED TO SWINE CONTRIBUTES TO THE SPREAD OF
INFECTIOUS ANIMAL DISEASES. THEREFORE, IT IS THE
PUBLIC POLICY OF THE STATE TO PROHIBIT THE FEEDING OF
GARBAGE TO ASSIST IN THE PREVENTION AND ERADICATION OF
ANIMAL DISEASES AND TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND
PUBLIC WELFARE.
(C) FEEDING GARBAGE TO SWINE PROHIBITED.
NO PERSON MAY FEED GARBAGE TO ANY SWINE, OR
DEPOSIT OR RECEIVE GARBAGE AT ANY LOCATION WHERE ANY
SWINE IS KEPT.
(D) SALE OR REMOVAL OF GARBAGE-FED SWINE
PROHIBITED UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
IF ANY SWINE IS FED GARBAGE IN VIOLATION OF THIS
SECTION, IT MAY NOT BE SOLD OR REMOVED FROM THE
LOCATION WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HAVING CONSUMED THE
GARBAGE, OR LONGER IF PRESCRIBED BY THE SECRETARY, AND
IF THE SECRETARY APPROVES ITS REMOVAL.
(E) EXCEPTIONS.
THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO ANY PERSON WHO
FEEDS GARBAGE FROM HIS OWN HOUSEHOLD TO SWINE ON HIS
PREMISES, IF THE SWINE IS NOT SOLD OR REMOVED FROM THE
PREMISES.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66C, §464A as enacted by Ch. 498, Acts
of 1973. The last phrase is proposed for
deletion and the appropriate reference to
the corresponding revised section is
substituted. Art. 66C, §464A(b)(2) of the
Code is proposed for deletion because it is
superseded by the definition of "person"
set forth in §1-101(f). Paragraph (3) is
superseded by the definition of
"Department" set forth in §1-101(c).
Subsection (b) presently appears as Art.
66C, §464A(a). Subsections (c) and (d)
presently appear as Art. 66c, §464(c) of
the Code. The present reference to
"premises" is proposed for deletion and
"location" is substituted so that this
