1014                                       LAWS OF MARYLAND                            [Ch. 4

FOR FOUR YEARS. ANY VACANCY OCCURRING AT ANY TIME IN
THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE COUNCIL, SHALL BE FILLED BY
APPOINTMENT BY THE GOVERNOR, WITH THE ADVICE OF THE
SECRETARY OF NATURAL RESOURCES, FOR THE REMAINDER OF
THE UNEXPIRED TERM. THE GOVERNOR SHALL DESIGNATE AS
CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNCIL ONE OF THE MEMBERS SO
APPOINTED BY HIM.

7-703. COMMISSION TO FILE COPIES WITH DEPARTMENT OF
NATURAL RESOURCES.

IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE V (I) OF THE COMPACT,
THE COMMISSION SHALL FILE COPIES OF ITS BYLAWS AND ANY
AMENDMENTS THERETO WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL
RESOURCES.

as Article 66C, sections 674I, 674J, and
674K, as enacted by Chapter 297, H.B. 304,
Acts of 1973. No changes, stylistic or
otherwise, are made.

SUBTITLE 8. PENALTIES AND FINES.

7-801. PENALTIES AND FINES.

(A) PENALTY FOR FIRST OFFENSE.—-ANY PERSON WHO
VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF THIS TITLE IS GUILTY OF A
MISDEMEANOR. UPON CONVICTION IN A COURT OF COMPETENT
JURISDICTION, UNLESS ANOTHER PENALTY IS SPECIFICALLY
PROVIDED ELSEWHERE IN THIS TITLE, THE PERSON IS
SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $500, OR IMPRISONMENT
NOT EXCEEDING THREE MONTHS, OR BOTH, WITH COSTS
IMPOSED IN THE DISCRETION OF THE COURT.

(E) PENALTY FOR SECOND OR SUBSEQUENT
OFFENSE.—ANY PERSON FOUND GUILTY OF A SECOND OR
SUBSEQUENT VIOLATION OF ANY PROVISION OF THIS TITLE IN
A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION, UNLESS ANOTHER
PENALTY IS SPECIFICALLY PROVIDED ELSEWHERE IN THIS
TITLE, IS SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $1,000, OR
IMPRISONMENT NOT EXCEEDING ONE YEAR, OR BOTH WITH
COSTS IMPOSED IN THE DISCRETION OF THE COURT. FOR THE
PURPOSE OF THIS SUBSECTION, A SECOND OR SUBSEQUENT
VIOLATION IS ONE WHICH HAS OCCURRED WITHIN TWO YEARS
OF ANY PRIOR VIOLATION OF THIS TITLE.

(C) VIOLATION OF RULE [[, REGULATION, OR
RESTRICTION ]] OR REGULATION.-- IN ADDITION TO ANY
