AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 76(d) of Article 100 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland ([[1964 Replacement Volume and]] 1972
Supplement), title "Work, Labor and Employment." subtitle "State
Employees," to provide that overtime compensation for certain law enforcement
personnel of the State of Maryland shall be computed on a daily basis. [[and
[[to establish certain limits on compensatory time for such employees.]] to
alter the statutory ceiling on overtime compensation for certain law enforcement
personnel. ]]

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 76(d) of Article 100 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland ([[1964 Replacement Volume and]] 1972 Supplement), title "Work,
Labor and Employment," subtitle "State Employees," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

76.

(d) Law-enforcement employees of the Maryland State Police and of the
Department of Natural Resources who work in excess of the normal [one hundred
(100) hour biweekly work period] TEN (10) HOUR DAILY WORK DAY shall
receive overtime compensation which shall be computed by dividing the [biweekly]
DAILY RATE OF compensation by the number of hours in the normal [biweekly
work period] DAILY WORK DAY and multiplying the resulting quotient by one
and one-half times the number of hours worked in excess of the normal [biweekly
work period] DAILY WORK DAY. The maximum yearly overtime to be paid
any one such employee is as follows:

Trooper, Trooper First
Class and Natural
Resources Officers
I and II
