ON A YEAR-ROUND BASIS.

(2)  To issue guidelines and establish procedures for the implementation of rules
adopted.

(3)   To issue advisory opinions upon request of members of the General
Assembly regarding legislative ethics concerning an action taken or contemplated
by any member.

(4)  To maintain public records as the rules require.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 434
(Senate Bill 788)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 48 of Article 101 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Workmen's Compensation," subtitle "Claims and Compensation; Benefits," to
change the period of time after which compensation shall be allowed from the
date of disability in certain cases under the Workmen's Compensation Law.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 48 of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Workmen's Compensation," subtitle
"Claims and Compensation; Benefits," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

48.

No compensation shall be allowed for three calendar days after the beginning of
disability, except disbursements herein authorized for medical, nurse and hospital
services and medicines and for funeral expenses; provided, however, that in case
the injury results in disability of more than [twenty-eight] FOURTEEN days,
compensation shall be allowed from the date of disability. The day on which the
injury occurred shall be included in computing this waiting period, if the employee
was not paid for such day.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall not
apply to accidental injuries sustained or occupational diseases incurred prior to
July 1, 1973.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.
