CHAPTER 385
(Senate Bill 335)
AN ACT to add new Section 250A to the Code of Public Local Laws of Calvert
County (1963 Edition, being Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Calvert County," to follow immediately after Section 250
thereof, to be under the new subtitle "Preservation of Historical Matters,"
amending the Local Laws of Calvert County to provide for appropriations by
the Board of County Commissioners to certain agencies and organizations and
relating generally to the details of these appropriations.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 250A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Calvert County (1963 Edition, being Article 5 of the Code of
Public Local laws of Maryland), title "Calvert County," to follow immediately
after Section 250 thereof and to be under the new subtitle "Preservation of
Historical Matters," and to read as follows:
PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL MATTERS
250A.
THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CALVERT COUNTY ARE
HEREBY AUTHORIZED [[AND DIRECTED]] TO APPROPRIATE
ANNUALLY A SUM TO BE DETERMINED BY THEM FOR THE
BENEFIT OF EACH OF THE FOLLOWING: THE MARINE MUSEUM OF
CALVERT COUNTY [[;]] AND THE BATTLE CREEK CYPRESS SWAMP.
PAYMENTS MADE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE MARINE MUSEUM
SHALL BE PAID DIRECTLY OR THROUGH THE APPROPRIATE
AGENCY OF THE CALVERT COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY. THE
ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS HEREIN AUTHORIZED BY THE
CALVERT COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL NOT BE CONTINGENT
UPON WHETHER LEGAL TITLE TO THE REAL PROPERTY IS VESTED
IN CALVERT COUNTY OR NATURE CONSERVANCY, INC.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.
