32.

The County Commissioners of St. Mary's County are authorized to appropriate
the sum of $40,000.00, to be paid at the rate of $10,000.00 per year over the next
four years, on and after July 1, 1963, to St. Mary's Hospital. Such funds shall be
used for the construction of the addition to the hospital which has been planned
and approved and for no other purposes. It is further provided that the County
Commissioners of St. Mary's County are hereby authorized to appropriate the sum
of lone hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for the sole and express purposes of
construction of a new wing on the St. Mary's Hospital] UP TO ONE
HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND ($150,000) DOLLARS TO SUBSIDIZE THE
ADDED CONSTRUCTION, EXPANSION AND INCREASED SCOPE OF
THE HOSPITAL'S PHASE I CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM. The
Commissioners are further authorized to pledge the credit of the County and to
borrow this amount from a bank or banks in St. Mary's County by an open note
to be amortized over a period of ten (10) years. The County Commissioners of St.
Mary's County are hereby authorized to appropriate the sum of up to ten thousand
($10,000) dollars for participation in the construction of an incinerator plant for
St. Mary's Hospital.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 349
(House Bill 1419)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1 of Chapter 730 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1967; increasing the amount that the
County Commissioners of Charles County are authorized and empowered to
borrow upon the faith and credit of the County, and to issue bonds therefor, for
the purpose of contributing to the cost of constructing and equipping a
non-profit nursing home.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 1 of Chapter 730 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1967 be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

The County Commissioners of Charles County be and they are hereby
authorized and empowered to borrow at one time, or from time to time, on the
faith and credit of said County, a sum or sums not exceeding in the aggregate
(Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000)] TWO MILLION DOLLARS
($2,000,000) and to issue and sell bonds therefor, the proceeds thereof to be used
for the purpose of contributing to [not to exceed one-third of] the cost of
constructing and equipping a Charles County Non-Profit Nursing Home, and to
pay all expenses, including advertising, printing, and legal fees, incurred in the
issuance and sale of any bonds hereunder, the said amount so borrowed to be used
for no other purpose whatsoever.
