CHAPTER 336
(House Bill 1034)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37(1) of Article 87 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume), title "Sheriffs,"
subtitle "Compensation and Duties," to make a nomenclaturial change therein
and to provide for a salary increase for the sheriff of Harford County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 37(1) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation
and Duties," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

37.

(1) The Sheriff of Harford County shall receive an annual salary of seventeen
thousand dollars ($17,000.00). He shall appoint such deputies and at such
compensation as may be provided by the County [Commissioners] COUNCIL of
said county. FROM AND AFTER THE BEGINNING OF THE TERM OF
THE SHERIFF ELECTED IN THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, 1974, THE
SHERIFF SHALL RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY OF TWENTY-TWO
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($22,000.00).

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

(House Bill 1051)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, in its entirety, Section 47-1 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Prince George's County (1967 Supplement), being Article 17 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County,"
subtitle "Juvenile Causes", as last amended by Chapter 355 of the Acts of 1969,
and to enact new Section 47-1 to stand in its place and stead, to provide for the
appointment of Masters of Juvenile Causes and establishing their duties,
relating to their hearings and the operations of their offices and generally
pertaining to the offices of Masters of Juvenile Causes in Prince George's
County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 47-1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1967 Supplement), being Article 17 of the Code of Public Laws
of Maryland, title "Prince George's County," subtitle "Juvenile Causes", as last
amended by Chapter 355 of the Acts of 1969, is hereby repealed in its entirety, and
the following be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in its place and
stead, and to read as follows:
