SECTION 3. Sections 2-46, 2-47, and 2-49, Chapter
2, title "Administration," of the Montgomery County
Code 1965, as amended, are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4. Section 2-48, Chapter 2,        title

"Administration," of the Montgomery County Code   1965,

as amended, is hereby repealed and re—enacted,     with
amendments, to read as follows:

2—48. Designation of inspector of weights and
measures.

The director of the department of environmental
protection, is hereby appointed and designated ex
officio as the inspector of standards of weights and
measures under Article 97 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, 1957, as amended, and shall exercise through
the department the functions imposed by law on the
inspector. Such appointment and designation is hereby
renewed annually on or before May 1 of each year.

SECTION 5. There is hereby added a new Section
2-49A, Chapter 2, title "Administration," subtitle
"Reference to Department of Inspection of Licenses,"
of the Montgomery County Code 1965, as amended, to
read as follows:

2-49A. REFERENCE TO DEPARTMENT OF INSPECTION AND
LICENSES.

WHEREVER IN THIS CODE REFERENCE IS MADE TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF INSPECTION AND LICENSES OR TO THE
DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INSPECTION AND LICENSES,
ON THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS SECTION SUCH REFERENCE
SHALL MEAN THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION,

OR THE DIRECTOR OF SUCH DEPARTMENT.

THE WORDS "DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION" ARE HEREBY SUBSTITUTED FOR "DEPARTMENT OF
INSPECTION AND LICENSES" AND THE REFERENCE TO
"DIRECTOR", "ACTING DIRECTOR", "BUILDING INSPECTOR",
OR "BUILDING OFFICIAL" SHALL HEREAFTER MEAN DIRECTOR
OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND HIS
AUTHORIZED AGENTS IN THE FOLLOWING CHAPTERS, ARTICLES,
SECTIONS, AND SUBSECTIONS OF THIS CODE, AS AMENDED:
