COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

immediate past calendar year resulting in a
change of response distances, the second class of
Fire Tax District shall be delineated as
Individual Fire Tax Districts which shall be
those Fire Departments not included within the
Consolidated District the boundaries of which
shall be predicated upon the closest response
area as described and outlined on the Map
following Section 27-3, the County Council is
authorized and empowered to levy annually against
all real and personal property assessed for
County tax purposes within each tax district at a
rate on each one hundred dollars of assessed
value of property to produce an amount that may
appear to the Council as sufficient for the
organization, operation, maintenance of fire,
ambulance, and rescue services and for the
purchase, construction, maintenance, and
operation of all real and personal property
necessary or incidental to such services, by
repealing in its entirety as obsolete existing
Section 27-4, title "Annual audits of books of
fire departments and fire boards—Required," by
adding a new Section 27—4, title "Response Area
Boundaries," to define a response area as the
geographic area served by a fire and/or rescue
station whose boundaries are the mid—points in
road distances between fire and/or rescue
stations, to explain the variance between
response area boundaries and Fire Tax District
boundaries, and to provide for the adjustment of
response area boundaries, by repealing in its
entirety as obsolete Section 27-5, title
"Same—Failure to file"; to amend Chapter 28,
title "Bethesda," of the Montgomery County Code
1965, as amended, by repealing in its entirety as
obsolete Section 28—1, title "Fire area defined;
annual levy for expenses; procedure for making
levy; treasurer's duties, etc.," by repealing in
its entirety as obsolete Section 28—2, title
"Retirement plan for employees generally," by
repealing in its entirety as obsolete Section
28-3, title "Primary responsibility and authority
for fire protection in area"; to amend Chapter
29, title "Burtonsville," of the Montgomery
County Code 1965, as amended, by repealing in its
entirety as obsolete Section 29-1, title "Area
defined," by repealing in its entirety as
obsolete Section 29-2, title "Annual levy;
treasurer's bond, etc.," by repealing in its
