HOWARD COUNTY

Graduation from a university or college of
recognized standing; four (4) years of progressively
responsible experience in data processing, which
includes the analysis and development of systems,
methods, and procedures for conversion to computer
processing techniques, two years of which must have
been in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or
any equivalent combination of education and
experience.

(30)    Building Inspector

Graduation from a recognized high school
and four (4) years responsible experience in building
construction work; or any equivalent combination of
education and experience.

(30A) BUILDING PLANS EXAMINEE I

GRADUATION FROM A RECOGNIZED HIGH SCHOOL OR
TECHNICAL SCHOOL, PREFERABLY SUPPLEMENTED BY COURSES
IN CIVIL ENGINEERING OR ARCHITECTURE; SHALL HAVE AT
LEAST THREE (3) YEARS EXPERIENCE IN WORK INVOLVING THE
PREPARATION OR REVISION OF CONSTRUCTION PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND THE PLANNING OF BUILDINGS, OR AN
EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING.

(30B) BUILDING PLANS EXAMINER II

GRADUATION FROM A RECOGNIZED HIGH SCHOOL OR
TECHNICAL SCHOOL, PREFERABLY SUPPLEMENTED BY COURSES
IN CIVIL ENGINEERING OR ARCHITECTURE. SHALL HAVE A
MINIMUM FIVE (5) YEARS EXPERIENCE IN WORK INVOLVING
THE PREPARATION OR REVISION OF CONSTRUCTION PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND THE PLANNING OF BUILDINGS, TWO (2)
YEARS OF WHICH WERE AT THE LEVEL OF BUILDING PLANS
EXAMINER I; OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE
AND TRAINING.

(31)    Senior Building Inspector

Graduation from a recognized high school
and six (6) years responsible experience in building
construction work, two of which shall have been on the
level of Building Inspector, preferably two (2) years
of college or university study in structural
engineering or design; or any equivalent combination
of education and experience.

(32)    Chief Building Inspector
