COUNTY COUNCIL OF HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, THAT THIS
ACT SHALL TAKE EFFECT SIXTY (60) CAYS AFTER ITS

ENACTMENT.]] AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED THAT THIS__ACT

SHALL__TAKE EFFECT SIXTY (60) DAYS AFTER ITS ENACTMENT

AND IT SHALL REMAIN EFFECTIVE FOR A PERIOD OF 1 YEAR.

AT THE END OF APRIL 7, 1973 AND WITH NO FURTHER ACTION

REQUIRED OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL, THIS ACT SHALL BE

ABROGATED AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE AND EFFECT.

This Bill, having been approved by the Executive and
returned to the Council, stands enacted on February
15, 1972.

COUNCIL BILL NO. 7

AN ACT to repeal and re—enact with amendments
Sub-section (b) of Section 17.108 of Title 17 of
the Howard County Code, Title "Public Protection
Service", Sub—title "Payments to Volunteer Fire
Companies" providing the method for requesting a
special district tax levy and increasing the
maximum tax special district levy allowed.

Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL
OF HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, That subsection (b) of
Section 17.108 of the Howard County Code be and the
same is hereby repealed and re—enacted with amendments
to read as follows:

Sec. 17.108 — Payments to volunteer fire
companies.

(b) Subject to the provisions hereinafter
set forth, the County Council of Howard County is
hereby further authorized and empowered to levy
annually a special district tax in any or all of
the election districts of Howard County and upon
all property assessed for taxation in the
district or districts wherein such tax is levied
for the benefit of the volunteer fire companies,
designated in subsection (a), provided however,
that:
