AN ACT to authorize the County Council of Baltimore
County, Maryland to grant a franchise or
franchises for the construction and operation of
community antenna, cable television and cable
communication systems (commonly known as "CATV"
systems) and to provide for the regulation and
control of such systems within Baltimore County,
by adding new Sections 2-15.1 through 2-15.26 to
the Baltimore County Code, 1968, title
"Administration," Article I. In General.

WHEREAS, Community Antenna Television (CATV)      is

available in some areas of the State of Maryland   for

use by the public by means of transmitting audio     and
visual TV signals and radio signals by cable, and

WHEREAS, the growth and acceptance of cable
transmission technology indicates that many public
benefits are available for the benefit of the citizens
of Baltimore County, and

WHEREAS, prospective franchisees have approached
Baltimore County officials for the purpose of applying
for the right to operate CATV enterprises along with
the right to install such cables in the public streets
of Baltimore County, and

WHEREAS, the County Council deems it to be in the
best interests and general welfare of the citizens of
Baltimore County to provide for the granting of CATV
franchises in conformity with Sections 30—6 through
30-9 of the Baltimore County Code, 1968; now therefore

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY     COUNCIL

OF BALTIMORE COUNTY, MARYLAND, pursuant     to the
authority contained in Section 5(B) of Article 25A of

the Annotated Code of Maryland, that new   Sections

2-15.1 through 2-15.26 be and they are hereby   added to

the Baltimore County Code, 1968           Title

"Administration," Article I. In General;   said new
sections to read as follows:
