COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

REGISTERED VOTERS OF THE AREA WITHIN WHICH THE

DESIGNATION IS REQUESTED.

2. THE AREA AND THE BOUNDARIES THEREOF SHALL BE

DESIGNATED AND OUTLINED ON A MAP OR PLAT ACCOMPANYING

THE PETITION.

(C) WITHIN NOT LESS THAN THIRTY DAYS NOR MORE

THAN SIXTY DAYS FROM THE FILING OF THE__PETITION,__THE

COUNTY COUNCIL SHALL CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING AT, WHICH

IT__SHALL__RECEIVE__TESTIMONY,__EVIDENCE__EXHIBITS AND

STATEMENTS FROM INTERESTED PARTIES REGARDING THE

SUBJECT MATTER OF THE PETITION. THIS HEARING SHALL BE

HELD WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHIC LIMITS OF THE AREA UNDER

PETITION UNLESS SUCH AREA COMPRISES LESS THAN ONE

SQUARE MILE. THE HEARING SHALL BE ADVERTISED IN TWO

CONSECUTIVE__ISSUES__OF__A__NEWSPAPER__HAVING__GENERAL

CIRCULATION WITHIN THE ARE A UNDER PETITION AND SUCH

ADVERTISEMENTS SHALL APPEAR NOT LESS THAN FIVE NOR

MORE THAN FIFTEEN DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE

HEARING.

(D) WITHIN THIRTY DAYS AFTER THE PUBLIC HEARING

THE COUNTY COUNCIL SHALL, DETERMINE WHETHER THE SALES

DISPLAYS COULD BE DAMAGING TO THE HEALTH AND GENERAL

WELFARE OF THE PUBLIC WITHIN ALL OR ANY PORTION OF THE

AREA__PETITIONED__FOR__AND__MAY,__BY__RESOLUTION__DULY

ADOPTED, DESIGNATE THE AREA, OR ANY PORTION THEREOF AS

ONE IN WHICH THERE SHALL BE PROHIBITED THE PLACING OR

MAINTAINING OF SALES DISPLAYS ON ANY RESIDENTIAL

PROPERTY THE COUNTY COUNCIL SHALL DESIGNATE A TIME FOR

THE CONTINUATION OF ANY SUCH PROHIBITION WHICH SHALL

NOT EXCEED TWO YEARS IN DURATION NOTHING SHALL PREVENT

THE FILING OF SUBSEQUENT PETITIONS FOR THE

CONTINUATION OF THE PROHIBITION OF ALL OR ANY PART OF

ANY AREA OR AREAS PREVIOUSLY DESIGNATED. IN THE EVENT

MORE THAN ONE PETITION IS FILED COVERING ALL OR ANY

PART OF THE SAME AREA THE COUNTY COUNCIL MAY

CONSOLIDATE THESE PETITIONS FOR HEARING AND

DESIGNATION PURPOSES.

SECTION 14-27 "BLOCKBUSTING" PROHIBITED

IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON, FIRM,
PARTNERSHIP, ASSOCIATION OR CORPORATION, FOR PROFIT,
TO INDUCE OR ATTEMPT TO INDUCE ANY PERSON TO SELL, OR
RENT ANY DWELLING BY REPRESENTATIONS REGARDING THE
ENTRY OR PROSPECTIVE ENTRY INTO THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF A
PERSON OR PERSONS OF A PARTICULAR RACE, COLOR,
RELIGION OR NATIONAL ORIGIN.
