(k) Classified employees will not be paid for
[sick] DISABILITY leave earned but not taken at the
time they leave the county service.
Section 1-212 (a)
(2) He may elect to use his earned [sick]
DISABILITY leave credits during which period he shall
receive his regular salary provided any amount awarded
as temporary total disability payments under workmen's
compensation law is endorsed by the employee over to
the county; provided further, that [sick] DISABILITY
leave shall be charged at the rate of one—half day for
each regular workday missed.
(3) He may elect to go on leave without pay
during which period he shall receive the amount
awarded as temporary total disability payments under
workmen's compensation law. In the event that the
employee initially elected to use his annual leave or
[sick] DISABILITY leave, and the amount of such leave
is exhausted before the employee is able to return to
work, he shall, upon request to the personnel officer,
be granted leave without pay for the duration of his
period of temporary total disability.
Section 1-213
(a) When a uniformed officer of the county
police or county fire department sustains an
accidental injury arising out of and during the course
of his employment with the county and such injury is
compensable under the Workmen's Compensation Law of
the State and a claim is filed with the workmen's
compensation commission, the injured employee shall be
paid his regular salary during the period of temporary
total disability; provided, any amount awarded as
temporary total disability payments under Workmen's
Compensation Law is endorsed by the employee over to
the county without such absence being charged to
annual or [sick] DISABILITY leave.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
Section 1-207 of said Code, Title, Subtitle and
Article, be, and it is hereby repealed.
