COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

new Subsection 875.3 in lieu thereof, to stand in the
place of the subsection so stricken, and to read as
follows:

"SUBSECTION 875.3. SILLS: ALL SILLS WHICH
REST ON CONCRETE OR MASONRY EXTERIOR WALLS AND ARE
LESS THAN SIX INCHES (6") FROM EXPOSED EARTH SHALL BE
OF APPROVED DURABLE OR TREATED WOOD. SILLS WHICH ARE
MORE THAN SIX INCHES (6") FROM EXPOSED EARTH SHALL BE
APPROVED OR TREATED WOOD, OR SHALL BE PROTECTED
AGAINST TERMITES BY MEANS OF A PROTECTIVE SHIELD
BETWEEN THE FOUNDATION OR APRON WALL AND WALL WOOD
MEMBERS. SHIELDS SHALL BE CONTINUOUS AND UNPIERCED,
AND MAY BE OF ALUMINUM, COPPER OP GALVANIZED STEEL OF
NOT LESS THAN NO. 26 U.S. GAUGE, OR OTHER CORROSIVE
RESISTIVE MATERIALS; THEY SHALL EXTEND NOT LESS THAN
TWO INCHES (2") BEYOND THE FACE OF THE WALL, AND SHALL
BE BENT DOWNWARD AT AN ANGLE OF FORTY-FIVE DEGREES
(45°) TO FORM A PROTECTIVE HOOD."

(36)  Strike all of Subsection 907.8 and insert a
new Subsection 907.8 in lieu thereof, to stand in the
place of the subsection so stricken, and to read as
follows:

"SUBSECTION 907.8. CONTINUITY OF FIRE WALLS: IN
ALL BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES OF OTHER THAN FIREPROOF
(TYPES 1-A AND 1-B) CONSTRUCTION, FIRE WALLS AND PARTY
WALLS SHALL BE CONTINUOUS FROM FOUNDATION TO TWO FEET
(2'), EIGHT INCHES (8") ABOVE THE ROOF SURFACE; EXCEPT
THAT IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS (USE GROUPS L-1, L-2 AND
L-3), FIRE WALLS HAY BE STOPPED AT THE LOWER SURFACE
OF THE ROOF SHEATHING PROVIDED THE ROOF SHEATHING IS
MADE OF FIRE RETARDANT WOOD WHICH EXTENDS EIGHT FEET
(8') ON EACH SIDE OF THE FIRE WALL, IF THOROUGHLY
FIRESTOPPED AND NO COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS EXTEND
THROUGH THE WALL. WALLS EXTENDING THROUGH THE ROOF
SHALL BE COPED AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 869.4 AND
SEPARATE FLASHING SHALL BE PROVIDED ON EACH SIDE."

(37)    Strike all of Subsection 1100.2 and insert
a new Subsection 1100.2 in lieu thereof, to stand in
the place of the subsection so stricken, and to read
as follows:

"SUBSECTION 1100.2. COOPERATING AGENCIES:
NOTHING HEREIN CONTAINED SHALL BE DEEMED TO NULLIFY
THE PROVISIONS OF OTHER LEGAL STATUTES OR REGULATIONS
OF THE MUNICIPALITY OR STATE GOVERNING THE OPERATION
AND MAINTENANCE OF BOILERS AND OTHER HEATING
