COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

STRUCTURES SHALL BE SUPPORTED ON PILES OR RANGING

TIMBERS WHEN SOLID EARTH TO ROCK IS NOT AVAILABLE. NO

FOOTINGS SHALL BE FOUNDED ON FROZEN SOILS UNLESS SUCH
FROZEN CONDITION IS OF A PERMANENT CHARACTER."

(29)    Immediately below Section 730.5, insert a
new Section 730.6 to read as follows:

"SECTION 730.6. FOOTING WIDTH. THE WIDTH
OF ALL FOOTINGS SHALL BE AT LEAST TWICE THE WIDTH OF
THE WALL SUPPORTED THEREON, EXCEPT AS THE WIDTH MAY BE
MODIFIED BY VIRTUE OF THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS 110
AND 113. MINIMUM DEPTH OF FOOTINGS SHALL BE EIGHT
INCHES (8"). FOOTINGS FOR FIREPLACE AND CHIMNEY SHALL
PROJECT A MINIMUM OF SIX INCHES (6") BEYOND THE
MAXIMUM DIMENSION, WITH A MINIMUM DEPTH OF TWELVE
INCHES (12").

(30)   Immediately below footnote 1, following the
table in Section 825.32, insert the following:

"A 3/8 INCH PLYWOOD CONSTRUCTION DECK MAY
BE INSTALLED UNDER THE 25/32 INCH WOOD STRIP FLOORING.
MAXIMUM JOIST SPACING, 16 INCH O.C. WOOD FLOORING
SHALL BE INSTALLED AT RIGHT ANGLES TO FLOOR JOISTS AND
SHALL BE NAILED TO JOIST IN SAME MANNER AS A 'SINGLE
FLOOR'."

(31)    Immediately below Section 835.4, insert a
new Section 835.5, to read as follows:

"SECTION 835.5. TOP COURSE CAPPING. WALLS
OF HOLLOW MASONRY SHALL BE CAPPED WITH AT LEAST FOUR
INCHES (4") OF SOLID MASONRY OR CONCRETE OR SHALL HAVE
THE CELLS OF TOP COURSE FILLED WITH CONCRETE OR GROUT
AT LEAST FOUR INCHES (4") THICK."

(32)   Strike all of Subsection 855.11 and insert
a new Subsection 855.11 in lieu thereof, to stand in
the place of the subsection so stricken, and to read
as follows:

"SUBSECTION 855.11. BEARING WALLS: POSTS
AND STUDS IN BEARING WALLS AND PARTITIONS SHALL BE
DESIGNED AS COLUMNS, WITH DUE ALLOWANCE FOR LATERAL
SUPPORT FURNISHED BY SHEATHING, INTERMEDIATE BRACING,
HORIZONTAL BRIDGING, WALL COVERINGS AND THE FLOOR AND
ROOF ASSEMBLIES. THE WALLS SHALL BE FABRICATED IN
SUCH A BANNER AS TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE SUPPORT FOR THE
MATERIAL USED TO ENCLOSE THE BUILDING AND TO PROVIDE
