PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
Annex No. 5
The undersigned, constituting: (1) more than twenty-five (25%) per centum of
the persons who reside in the hereinafter described area and who are registered
voters in county elections in the precinct or precincts in which the territory to be
annexed is located, and (2) the owners of at least twenty-five (25%) per centum of
the assessed valuation of the real property located in said area to be annexed,
respectfully petition the Major and Common Council of Westminster to enlarge
the corporate boundaries of the City of Westminster by annexation of the parcel of
land situate on the northeast edge of the City of Westminster, contiguous and
adjoining to the corporate limits thereof, and as described in a survey made by
Leon A. Podolak and Associates, as follows:
Beginning for the same at a point situate at the end of 517.53 feet on the second
or North 35 l/4°West 720.00 foot line of the boundaries of City of Westminster
recorded on page 1898 of Volume One of the Code of the Public Local Laws of
Maryland, 1930 Edition, and recorded also among the Acts, Ordinances and
Resolutions of Carroll County in Liber 2 folio 583, thence leaving said place of
beginning and running with and binding on remaining portion of said 2-nd line, as
now surveyed and referring all courses of this description to the true meridian
established by the State of Maryland grid system, North 40°42'01" West
202.47 feet to a point at the end of said 2-nd line, running thence with and binding
on part of 3-rd or North 34 3/4 "West 370.00 foot line of said boundaries of City
of Westminster North 40°12' 01" West 225.02 feet to a point, and to intersect the
Northwest line of lot 10 as laid out and shown on Plat No. 1 of Wantz Subdivision
dated November 1955 and recorded among the Land Records of Carroll County in
Plat Book 4 folio 12, thence leaving said 3-rd line of the boundaries of City of
Westminster and running with and binding on the outlines of lots 10, 9, 8, and 7
and running also to and across an unnamed street, 30.00 feet wide, as laid out and
shown on said plat, the two following courses and distances, viz: North 40°36' 30"
West 58.69 feet to an iron pipe and thence South 49 °40' 51" East 421.63 feet to
an iron pipe, running thence with and binding on Southeast side of said unnamed
street South 40°19' 09" West 127.36 feet to the place of beginning.
Containing 0.905 acres of land more or less.
