2420 MUNICIPAL CHARTERS
BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALISBURY,
that the purpose of uniformity of the City's Charter provision relating to the age of
eligibilty of voters with the national and state election laws on such subject, the
Council hereby recommends amending Section 33 of the Charter of The City of
Salisbury to read as follows, new matter being underscored and matter eliminated
therefrom being enclosed in double parentheses:
"Sec 33. Persons considered duly qualified voters; right of duly qualified
voters to vote.
"Every person who (a) is a citizen of the United States, (b) is at least [twenty one]
EIGHTEEN years of age, (c) has resided within the corporate limits of the city
for six consecutive months next preceding any city election or at the time of the
election is, and for at least one year prior thereto has been, assessed on the tax
books of the city as the owner of real property of the value of at least five
hundred dollars, and (d) is registered in accordance with the provisions of this
Charter, shall be a duly qualified voter of the city. Every duly qualified voter of
the city shall be entitled to vote at any or all city elections."
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SALISBURY, that The Mayor of the City of Salisbury be, and hereby is,
authorized and directed to give notice by posting and publication as required by
Article 23A of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland; and the amendment
herein proposed shall become effective upon the expiration of the time limit therein
contained.
THE ABOVE RESOLUTION was introduced at the regular meeting of the
Council of The City of Salisbury, held on the 10th day of January, 1972, and
having been duly published in the meantime was finally passed at its meeting held
on the 14th day of February, 1972.

RESOLUTION NO. 154
A RESOLUTION of the Council of The City of Salisbury proposing an
amendment of the Charter of The City of Salisbury by amending Section 21
thereof, entitled "Qualifications", so as to continue the age of eligibility for
office at twenty-one years.

eligiblity age to hold office, the Council hereby recommends amending Section 21
of the Charter of The City of Salisbury to read as follows, new matter being
