2276                                 MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

COUNTY

MARYLAND BEFORE ANNEXATION THAT BECAME
EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 11, 1972

Beginning at a point in the center of the bridge across Clark Run in the State
Road leading from La Plata to Dentsville: running thence with the North side of
the said State Road in a westerly direction a distance of 320 feet to a stake
marking the beginning for the fourth course of the original survey of the Town of
La Plata, thence with the said fourth course N 22-1/2 deg. W 1947 feet to a stone;
running still with the original outline survey N83-1/2 deg. W until this line
intersects the east right of way line of the P. B. and W. Railroad; thence with the
east right of way line of the said Railroad in a northerly direction a distance of
600 feet more or less; then leaving said Railroad and running in a northwesterly
direction to a point of intersection of the old State Road leading from La Plata to
Washington and the old County Road known as "May Day Road" or "The Cox
Mill Road"; thence in a westerly direction following the center line of the said old
County Road to the northwest corner of Rudolph Garner's land; thence in a
southerly direction along the said Garner line until it intersects the line of the
Posey land; thence in a westerly direction along the north boundary line of the
Posey and Clark land to the west side of a private roadway leading to the lands of
George Johnson, et. al.; thence southerly in a straight line until this line
intersects the run or stream directly in back of Sacred Heart School; thence with
the stream directly in back of Sacred Heart School; thence with said stream in a
westerly direction until it intersects the private roadway leading to the home of Hal
Barnes; thence in a southerly direction to a large black walnut tree standing about
20 feet north of a private cemetery on the land of James Wills; thence in a
southeasterly direction to the southwest corner of Frank Simms' property; thence
with the south boundary line of said Simms' property running in an easterly
direction to the east side of U.S. Route 301; thence S 05 deg. 04 min W 197.0 ft.;
thence leaving U.S. Route 301 S 63 deg. 36 min E 360.01 feet; thence S 11 deg. 07
min E. 653.39 feet; thence S 80 deg 10 min E 486.3 feet to the west side of St.
Mary's Avenue; thence with the west side of St. Mary's Avenue in a northerly
direction to a point directly opposite the southwest corner of Vernon Padgett's
property; thence S 86 deg 55 min E 3836.2 ft. to the stream known as Clark Run;
thence running up and with the stream in a northerly direction as it meanders to
the point of beginning.
