2226 MUNICIPAL CHARTERS
The planning commission shall have the power:
(a) To require information which shall be furnished within a reasonable time
from the other departments of the city government in relation to its work.
(b) To request additional assistance for special survey work of the mayor, who
at his discretion may assign to the commission members of the staff of any
administrative department or direct such department to make special studies
requested by the commission.
(c) Within its budget appropriation, to contract with city planners and other
consultants for such services as it may require, when approved by the mayor and
the board of aldermen.
(d) In the performance of its functions, to enter upon any land and make
examinations and surveys and place and maintain necessary monuments and marks
thereon.
SECTION II: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the date of passage of this
Resolution is April 6, 1972, the amendment to the Charter of the City of Frederick
hereby enacted shall become effective on July 5, 1972, unless a proper petition for
referendum herein shall be filed as provided by Section 13 of Article 23 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, provided a complete and exact copy of this
Resolution shall be continuously posted at City Hall. Frederick, Maryland, until
July 5, 1972. and provided further that a fair summary of the proposed
amendment shall be posted in a paper of general circulation, the News-Post, in the
City of Frederick, once in each of the weeks of May 21, May 28. June 4 and June
11, 1972, and that all sections of the Charter inconsistent with the provisions of
this Resolution be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such
inconsistency.
SECTION III: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDAINED that the
Mayor of the City of Frederick shall send separately by registered mail to the
Secretary of State of Maryland and the Department of Legislative Reference a
complete text hereof, the date of referendum election, if any, the number of votes
cast for and against the question containing the charter amendment, whether in the
Legislative Body or in the Referendum and the effective date of the charter
amendment.

SECTION 2 OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF FREDERICK,
ENTITLED "INCORPORATION IN GENERAL GOVERNMENT";
SUB-TITLED "BOUNDARIES," TO PROVIDE FOR THE ANNEXATION
OF 0.066 SQUARE MILES MORE OR LESS OF LAND IN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FREDERICK ON THE
WESTERN BOUNDARY.
