7. That no Petition for a referendum for the Resolution has been received and
no Referendum set or held.

8. That the matters and facts contained in the aforegoing Certificate concerning
the enlargement of the boundaries of The Burgess and Commissioners of
Emmitsburg, are true and correct to the best of my knowledge, information and
belief.

WITNESS the hands and Official Seal of the Burgess and Commissioners of
Emmitsburg, a municipal corporation of the State of Maryland, this 14 day of
July, 1972 . and the signature of the presiding officer of the legislative body of said
Town.

Exhibit "A"

WHEREAS, the consent of more than 25% of the registered voting residents
and 25% of the real property owners of the land known as Wesco, which is more
particularly described below, having consented to the annexation of such land by
the Burgess and Commissioners of Emmitsburg, Maryland.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the land known as Wesco
being described as follows:

Beginning at an iron pipe at the intersection of lines (2) and (3) as shown on the
Plat description of the Corporate Limits of the town of Emmitsburg, dated 14
February, 1972, thence by lands of Emmit Gardens, N 24°26' 11" E 820.06' to a
point on the southern boundary of State Route 97; thence by the southern
boundary of State Route 97, S 76°19' 20" E 506.14' to a point at the lands of
Mrs. Regis Sanders; thence by the lands of Mrs. Regis Sanders, S 21°43' 49" W
913.62' to an iron pipe at the lands of Harry Swomley, thence N 65°46' 11" W
540.38' to the place of beginning, be added to the Corporate Limits of the Town of
Emmitsburg, and that the persons and property therein be generally subject to the
provisions of the Charter of Emmitsburg; and be it further,

RESOLVED, that a Notice describing such proposed annexation be published
in the Emmitsburg Chronicle, and that a public hearing be held on the proposed
annexation, as required by law.
