AN ACT to add new Sections 213 to 220, inclusive to Article 77 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Public
Education," to follow immediately after Section 212 of said article, AND TO BE
UNDER THE NEW SUBTITLE "NONPUBLIC EDUCATION
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM," to provide for a state scholarship program for
children attending approved nonpublic schools, and for the administration thereof;
and to add new Section 41A to Article 77 of said Code, SUBTITLE "COUNTY
BOARDS OF EDUCATION," to follow immediately after Section 41 of said
article, to provide for shared time arrangements and the administration thereof.

AND IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that at said election, 448,702 votes were
cast for the adoption of said Chapter 7 and 543,241 votes were cast against the
adoption of said Chapter 7, the said Chapter 7 of the Acts of 1971 has therefore
failed of ratification.

GIVEN Under My Hand and the Seal of the State Administrative Board
of Election Laws of the State of Maryland, Done at the City of Annapolis, this
30th day of November, In the Year of Our Lord, One Thousand, Nine Hundred
and Seventy-two.

1971, CHAPTER 698 - Washington County School Board

STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, the State Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland on November 7, 1972,
an Act known as Chapter 698 of the Acts of 1971 was submitted to the voters of
Washington County under the provisions of said Chapter 698 of the Acts of 1971,
said Act being as follows:

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 35(b) of Article
77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Supplement), title "Public
Education," subtitle "Chapter 4. County Boards of Education," and to add new
Section 36A to said article, title and subtitle of the Code, to follow immediately
after Section 36 thereof; reconstituting the County Board of Education for
Washington County, making it an elective Board, providing for the election,
tenure, duties, and operations of the Board, and submitting this Act to a
referendum of the qualified voters of Washington County.

AND IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that at said election, 16,143 votes were
cast for the adoption of said Chapter 698 and 6,899 votes were cast against the
adoption of said Chapter 698, the said Chapter 698 of the Acts of 1971 has
therefore been ratified by the duly qualified voters of Washington County,
Maryland.
