HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION requesting the Charles County Board of
Education and Charles County Commissioners to take certain action in regard
to certain school sites.

WHEREAS, The General Assembly of Maryland recognizes the vital
importance of educating the youngsters of Charles County; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the
Board of Education of Charles County shall, within twelve months after June,
1973:

Acquire a site for school purposes in the Issue-Tompkinsville area of Charles
County;

Acquire an additional school site in the Wayside area of Charles County;

Both to be consistent with the standard otherwise specified by law pertaining to
school sites; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the County Commissioners of Charles County shall
appropriate to the Board of Education of Charles County from any funds received
by Charles County for any general county purpose for the payment of the sites;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That the sites be acquired by purchase, gift or otherwise; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Mr. Jesse L.
Starkey, Superintendent of Schools, La Plata, Maryland, and Mr. James C.
Simpson, President, Board of County Commissioners, La Plata, Maryland.
