(House Bill 1188)
AN ACT to add new subsections (u) and (v) to Section 112 of Article 66C of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume and 1972 Cumulative
Supplement), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Birds, Game and Fish," to
follow immediately after subsection (t) of the section; to add new subsection (k)
to Section 151 of the Article, to follow immediately after subsection (j) of the
section; to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, subsection (a) of Section 157
of the Article, and to add new Sections 158 and 158A to the Article, to follow
immediately after Section 157 of the Article, defining stationary blind and blind
site, prohibiting [[body booting and ]] hunting from a gunning rig in the waters
of Talbot County with certain exceptions, providing for stationary blind and
blind site licenses in Talbot County, regulating the use of stationary blinds and
blind sites, establishing the required distance between licensed stationary blinds
and blind sites and the required distances from shore, and setting forth the
rights of stationary blind and blind site licensees.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Subsections (u) and (v) be and they are hereby added to
Section 112 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970
Replacement Volume and 1972 Cumulative Supplement), title "Natural
Resources," subtitle "Birds, Game and Fish," to follow immediately after
Subsection (t); that new subsection (k) be and is hereby added to Section 151 of
the Article, to follow immediately after subsection (j); that subsection (a) of
Section 157 of the Article be and is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments; and that new Sections 158 and 158A be and are hereby added to the
Article, to follow immediately after Section 157 of the Article, and to read as
follows:
112.
(U) "BLIND SITE" MEANS A SPECIFIC LOCATION IN THE WATER
WHERE A PERSON MAY HUNT WILD WATERFOWL FROM ANY
BOAT OR RAFT WHICH IS TIED TO OR ANCHORED AT A STAKE AND
IS NOT A PERMANENT STRUCTURE.
(V) "STATIONARY BLIND" MEANS A PERMANENT OFF-SHORE
STRUCTURE BUILT ON PILINGS OR STAKES AND USED FOR
HUNTING WILD WATERFOWL.

(K) SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS 158 AND 158A, IN
THE WATERS OF TALBOT COUNTY A PERSON MAY NOT I [BODY
BOOT OR]] HUNT FROM A GUNNING RIG EXCEPT IN THE
CHESAPEAKE BAY AND EASTERN BAY.
157.
(a) Section 154, relating to distance from shore, shall not apply to the waters of
the Chesapeake Bay opposite the shoreline of Anne Arundel and Calvert counties
on the western side of said Bay, and to the waters of Brannock's Bay, Trippe's Bay
or Todd's Bay in Dorchester County, nor to the waters of the Chesapeake Bay
adjacent to Poplar Island, [in Coache's Neck, nor to the waters lying north of a
straight line drawn from Black Walnut Point to Benoni's Point in Talbot County,]
nor to the waters of Prospect Bay in Queen Anne's County, nor to the waters
within one thousand yards of James Island in Dorchester County.
