COUNTY OR CITY AFTER HIS APPOINTMENT AS THE SUPERVISOR
OF THAT COUNTY OR CITY.
(D)
The supervisor shall hold no other public office of profit.
If the State Department of Assessments and Taxation FINDS THAT NONE OF
THE PERSONS ON THE LIST ARE QUALIFIED APPLICANTS
PURSUANT TO SECTION 246A[ [[ deems fit to be appointed none of the
persons whose names are upon a list submitted as aforesaid, they]] IT may
reject all the nominations and call for a new list. In case OF FAILURE [the
county commissioners of any county, the County Council of Baltimore County,
the county executive of Montgomery County, or the mayor of Baltimore shall
Fail) to furnish the list herein provided for within twenty days after notice from
the State Department of Assessments and Taxation the [said] Department shall
have power to fill such office immediately after the expiration of such time.

The supervisors shall be furnished with an office BY THE COUNTY OR
BALTIMORE CITY at the county seat OR BALTIMORE CITY, AS THE
CASE MAY BE. [by the county commissioners of each county, and the supervisor
of assessments for Baltimore County shall be furnished with an office at the county
seat by the County Council, and the supervisor of assessments for Montgomery
County shall be furnished with an office at the county seat by the county
executive,] [[and the DIRECTOR OF ASSESSMENTS]] [supervisors of
assessments] [[for Baltimore City shall likewise be furnished an office in
Baltimore City by the mayor and city council; 11 and they shall be allowed such
clerical help [and] , EQUIPMENT, FACILITIES, SPACE AND SUCH
OTHER expense as the [county commissioners, and the County Council of
Baltimore County, and the county executive and the County Council of
Montgomery County, and the mayor and city council of Baltimore shall
respectively determine.] DEPARTMENT SHALL DEEM NECESSARY AND
AS IS PROVIDED IN THE STATE BUDGET.
(G)
They shall [confer frequently with the State Department of Assessments and
Taxation, submitting questions for determination to that Department and shall]
receive and carry out instructions given by the Department or the chief supervisor
of assessments appointed by the Department for their guidance in supervising the
valuation and assessment of real and personal property; they shall likewise keep
constantly informed of the method of work pursued by other supervisors of
assessments. (After July 1, 1961, supervisors of assessments shall not hold their
position after they have attained the age of seventy (70) years, except that this
shall not apply to the supervisor of assessments of Baltimore County until and
after December 1, 1967.]
(H) SUPERVISORS OF ASSESSMENTS SHALL NOT HOLD THEIR
POSITION AFTER THEY HAVE ATTAINED THE AGE OF SEVENTY (70)

In Prince George's County the County Commissioners annually shall review the
needs of the office of the county supervisor of assessments as to personnel,
organization, space and equipment, in order to promote and encourage efficiency
in the conduct of the duties of that office.]
