(House Bill 1357)
AN ACT to add new Section 128A to Article 2B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title "Alcoholic
Beverages," subtitle "Restrictions Upon Licensees," to follow immediately after
Section 128 thereof, to permit persons eighteen (18) years of age or older to
serve alcoholic beverages in restaurants in connection with serving a meal in
Charles County, but not to act as bartenders or barmaids.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 128A be and it is hereby added to Article 2B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1972
Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Restrictions Upon Licensees,"
to follow immediately after Section 128 thereof, and to read as follows:
IN CHARLES COUNTY A PERSON EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE
OR OLDER MAY SERVE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN RESTAURANTS
IN CONNECTION WITH SERVING OF A MEAL. PERSONS UNDER
TWENTY-ONE (21) YEARS OF AGE MAY NOT ACT AS BARTENDER
OR BARMAID OR IN ANY SOLELY BAR-RELATED CAPACITY IN
CHARLES COUNTY.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

AN ACT to add new Section 1A to Article [[95A]] 95 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Treasurer," to follow immediately
after Section 1 thereof, providing that the duties of the State Treasurer after
appointment in 1975 shall be full-time, relating to the salary of the Treasurer
and prohibiting any ownership or compensation with respect to certain financial
institutions with Hall certain [[exception]] exceptions.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 1A be and it is hereby added to Article [[95A]]
95 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title
"Treasurer," to follow immediately after Section 1 thereof, and to read as follows:

THE TREASURER WHO IS APPOINTED BY THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY AT THE 1975 REGULAR SESSION AND THEREAFTER
SHALL DEVOTE FULL TIME TO THE DUTIES OF THE OFFICE OF
TREASURER. THE TREASURER SHALL RECEIVE THE SALARY
PROVIDED IN THE BUDGET. DURING THE PERIOD OF HOLDING THE
OFFICE OF TREASURER, THE TREASURER SHALL NOT OWN ANY
CAPITAL STOCK IN OR RECEIVE ANY COMPENSATION FROM A
BANK, TRUST COMPANY, OR OTHER FINANCIAL INSTITUTION IN
THE STATE OF MARYLAND; PRIOR TO TAKING OFFICE THE
