CHAPTER 597
(House Bill 1041)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 11-1110 of Article
66-1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title
"Vehicle Laws," subtitle "Subtitle 11. Rules of the Road," subheading "Part
XI. Miscellaneous Rules," to prohibit any vehicle from being driven over fire
hoses when such hoses are [(used during any disaster, catastrophe, riot or other
public emergency]] laid down on any street or private driveway without the
consent of certain officials.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 11-1110 of Article 66-1/2 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Vehicle Laws," subtitle "Subtitle 11.
Rules of the Road," subheading "Part XI. Miscellaneous Rules," be and the same
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

11-1110.

No vehicle shall be driven over any unprotected hose of a fire department when
laid down on any street or private driveway [[, to be used at any fire or alarm of
fire OR DURING ANY DISASTER, CATASTROPHE, RIOT, OR PUBLIC
EMERGENCY,]] without the consent of the fire department official in command.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 598
(House Bill 1052)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3-403.1(d) of Article
66-1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume and
1972 Supplement), title "Vehicle Laws," subtitle "3. Certificates of Title and
Registration of Vehicles," subheading "Part IV. Registration of Vehicles," to
provide that the County Council of Prince George's County, Maryland, may
decide whether subsection (d) shall apply and remove the prohibition against the
Prince George's County Treasurer being an agent for the Department in the
registration of vehicles.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 3-403. l(d) of Article 66-1/2 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title "Vehicle
