1220                                    LAWS OF MARYLAND                              Ch. 574

[[1.]] IF A COUNTY OR STATE ROAD IS THE BOUNDARY OF
EITHER WILDLAND, THE COUNTY OR STATE IS EXEMPT FROM THE
REQUIREMENT TO OBTAIN APPROVAL FROM THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY FOR ACTIVITIES WITHIN 200 FEET OF THE ROAD EDGE,
AND IN THE WILDLAND, WHICH ARE NECESSARY FOR THE
MAINTENANCE OR IMPROVEMENT OF THE ROADWAY FOR THE
PURPOSE OF PUBLIC SAFETY. THESE ACTIVITIES ARE SUBJECT TO
NORMAL REVIEW, PERMIT, AND APPROVAL ACTIONS AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.

[[2. THE FOREST SERVICE SCENIC VISTA ON NEW GERMANY
ROAD IN THE MONROE RUN WILDLAND MAY BE MAINTAINED;
WITHIN THE AREA BOUNDED BY NEW GERMANY ROAD AND A
LINE BEGINNING AT NEW GERMANY ROAD AND PROCEEDING
SOUTHEAST (S45°E) 400 FEET, THEN SOUTHWEST (S45°W) 400 FEET,
THEN NORTHWEST TO A CONCRETE MONUMENT BEING THE
EASTERN CORNER OF PRIVATE PROPERTY, THEN NORTHWEST
(N45°W) TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH NEW GERMANY ROAD.

3.   THE NORTH-SOUTH ORIENTED POWERLINE RIGHT OF WAY
CROSSING THE NORTHWEST PANHANDLE OF THE MONROE RUN
WILDLAND MAY BE RETAINED IN ITS PRESENT CONDITION, THAT
BEING: TWO LOW ENERGY LINES SUPPORTED ON SINGLE WOODEN
POLES, IN A CLEARED 30 FOOT RIGHT OF WAY. THE USE OF THE
RIGHT OF WAY FOR THE EXISTING PURPOSES MAY BE REDUCED IN
SCALE OR ELIMINATED WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY.

4.    THE FOREST SERVICE RED PINE PLANTATION ON THE
SOUTHERN SIDE OF THE MONROE RUN WILDLAND AND ADJACENT
TO DRY RUN ROAD MAY BE PROTECTED AND MANAGED FOR
FOREST PRODUCTS UNTIL THE AREA IS HARVESTED, WHEN THE
AREA WILL BE ALLOWED TO NATURALLY REVERT.]]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 575
(House Bill 862)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 104, 107, and 108 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Charles County (1969 Edition, being Article
9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County,"
subtitle "Electrical Apparatus and Wiring," to increase compensation of the
Board of Examiners and Supervisors, increase the amount paid for a license,
and increase the amount paid for renewal of a license.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 104, 107, and 108 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Charles County (1969 Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Charles County," subtitle "Electrical Apparatus and Wiring,"
be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and all to read
as follows:
