CHAPTER 570
(House Bill 823)

AN ACT to repeal Section 345A of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle
"Forests and Parks," subheading "In General," and to enact new Section 345A
in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section so repealed, to provide an
admission or overnight camping fee exemption for registered youth groups ,
except under certain circumstances.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 345A of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle
"Forests and Parks," subheading "In General," be and it is hereby repealed and
that new Section 345A be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the
place of the section so repealed, and to read as follows:

345A.

[Boy scouts, girl scouts, camp fire girls, members of affiliated branches thereof,
and their adult leaders, when in appropriate uniforms, and in groups of eight or
more which are accompanied by an adult leader, shall be admitted to any
Maryland State park free of any admission charge.] THOSE YOUTH GROUPS
REGISTERED WITH THE SECRETARY OF NATURAL RESOURCES
SHALL BE ADMITTED TO ANY MARYLAND STATE PARK FREE OF
ANY ADMISSION OR OVERNIGHT CAMPING CHARGE. THIS
EXEMPTION SHALL APPLY ONLY WHEN THE GROUP IS
PARTICIPATING IN OFFICIAL ACTIVITIES; WHEN UNDER ADULT
SUPERVISION; AND WHEN REGISTERED WITH THE SECRETARY OF
NATURAL RESOURCES. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS SECTION
YOUTH GROUP SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO BOY
SCOUTS, GIRL SCOUTS, 4-H MEMBERS, AND OTHER AFFILIATED
GROUPS. THE SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL
RESOURCES MAY RESTRICT THIS PRIVILEGE AT WHATEVER TIMES
THE PARKS ARE BEING USED TO CAPACITY BY THE PUBLIC.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 571
(House Bill 828)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 240A(a) and 240C(a)
of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume
and 1972 Supplement), title "Insurance Code," subtitle "Unfair Trade
Practices," to exclude surety insurance from the provisions relating to notice of
intention to cancel or not to renew a policy of insurance and changing the
definition of the term "applicant".

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 240A(a) and 240C(a) of Article 48A of the
