CHAPTER 522
(House Bill 268)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 17A(a) of Article 23A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and 1972
Supplement), title "Corporations - Municipal," subtitle "Home Rule,"
subheading "Charter Amendments," to clarify the language therein by making
technical corrections.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 17A(a) of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title "Corporations
Municipal," subtitle "Home Rule," subheading "Charter Amendments," be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

17A.

(a) At the end of each calendar or fiscal year, each municipal corporation shall
furnish in a convenient and legible compilation a complete set of the measures
DEALT WITH during that year [to] WHICH enact, amend, or repeal sections in
its municipal charter. The measures in the compilation shall be in a numerical
sequence, beginning with No. 1, and in a separate series for each year.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

(House Bill 275)

AN ACT to add new Section 198A to Article 16 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title "Chancery,"
subtitle "Trustee," to follow immediately after Section 198 thereof, to provide
that any fiduciary is authorized to deposit securities, including securities held in
its fiduciary capacity, with a securities clearing corporation; to provide that the
clearing corporation may merge and hold the securities in bulk in the name of
itself or its nominee; to provide that title to deposited securities may be
transferred by entry on the books or computer records of the clearing
corporation without delivery to the transferee of certificates, and defining terms.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 198A is hereby added to Article 16 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement),
title "Chancery," subtitle "Trustee," to follow immediately after Section 198
