CHAPTER 503
(House Bill 34)
AN ACT to add new Section 132(e) to Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title "Health,"
subtitle "Practitioners of Medicine," to follow immediately after Section 132(d)
thereof, to include certain law enforcement officers within the provisions
exempting from civil liability certain persons rendering emergency services after
an accident.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 132(e) be and it is hereby added to Article 43 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1972
Supplement), title "Health," subtitle "Practitioners of Medicine," to follow
immediately after Section 132(d) thereof and to read as follows:
132.
(E) A POLICEMAN, SHERIFF, OR OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT
OFFICER HAS THE SAME IMMUNITY AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION
(A), IF HE HAS COMPLETED AN ADVANCED RED CROSS OR
EQUIVALENT COURSE IN FIRST AID APPROVED BY THE
SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND MENTAL
HYGIENE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 504
(House Bill 40)
AN ACT to add new Section 19 to Article 96-1/2 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland ([[1973]] 1964 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title
"Veterans," to follow immediately after Section 18 thereof, and to be under the
new subtitle "Veterans' Cemeteries," to provide for the establishment of
veterans' cemeteries in Maryland, the acquisition, supervision and control of
veterans' cemeteries, and the requirements for eligibility for burial in veterans'
cemeteries in Maryland and generally relating to veterans' cemeteries in
Maryland; and to authorize the creation of a State debt in the aggregate
amount of [[Ten Million Dollars ($10,000,000)]] [[Six Million Five Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($6.500.000)]] [ [three million dollars 11 Three Million
Dollars ($3,000,000) the proceeds thereof to be used for the purpose of
acquiring land for the establishment of veterans' cemeteries in Maryland,
including sites [[therefore]] therefor, and providing generally for the issue and
sale of bonds evidencing such loan.
