(Senate Bill 1150)

AN ACT to add new Section 21 to Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Garrett County (1971 Edition, being Article 12 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Garrett County," subtitle "7. County
Commissioners," to follow immediately after Section 7-20 thereof, in Garrett
County to create and generally provide for a county attorney.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 21 is hereby added to Article 7 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Garrett County (1971 Edition, being Article 12 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Garrett County," subtitle "7: County
Commissioners," to follow immediately after Section 7-20 thereof, and to read as
follows:

7-21.

(A)     THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL APPOINT AN
ATTORNEY WHO SHALL PROVIDE LEGAL COUNSEL TO THE
COMMISSIONERS.

(B)  THE SALARY OF THE COUNTY ATTORNEY SHALL BE AS SET
BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, AND THE COUNTY ATTORNEY
SHALL SERVE AT THE PLEASURE OF THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS.

(C)  THE COUNTY ATTORNEY SHALL BE LEGAL COUNSEL TO THE
GARRETT COUNTY SHERIFF IN ADDITION TO WHATEVER OTHER
DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 8-401 of Article 21 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Interim Supplement), "Real Property,"
title "Landlord and Tenant," subtitle "Landlords' Remedies Other than
Distraint," providing the tenant with the right to redeem the leased premises
prior to eviction upon payment of all due rent and costs.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
