(1968 Replacement Volume), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle
"Special and Temporary Licenses," be and it is hereby repealed, and
new Section 25(i) is hereby enacted in lieu thereof and to read as
follows:

(i) No special license shall be issued in Garrett County.]
25.
(i) In Garrett County, a special Class C beer, beer and wine, or
beer, wine and liquor license may be issued provided that any license
so issued may not be for a period of more than two consecutive
days. A fee of $50 shall be charged for any such special license.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (c) of
Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement
Volume and 1971 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attor-
neys in Fact," subtitle "State's Attorney," to increase the salaries
for the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney and deputy and
assistant State's attorneys, and to make the Anne Arundel County
State's Attorney AND 6 ASSISTANTS a full-time position*, AND
TO CLARIFY THE POSITIONS PROHIBITED FROM EN-
GAGING IN THE PRIVATE PRACTICE OF LAW.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40(c) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume and 1971 Supplement), title "Attorneys
at Law and Attorneys in Fact," subtitle "State's Attorney," be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
40.
(c) In Anne Arundel County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary
is [nineteen thousand] twenty-five thousand dollars [($19,000.)]
($25,000) annually; and he shall serve full-time. (2) The State's
Attorney may appoint a deputy State's attorney who shall serve full
time and whose salary shall be such compensation not exceeding
[eighteen thousand five hundred] twenty-two thousand five hundred
dollars [($18,500.)] ($22,500) annually as the State's Attorney may
deem proper. (3) The State's Attorney may appoint twelve assistant
State's attorneys. The salary of two assistant State's attorneys shall
be such compensation not exceeding [eighteen] twenty thousand
[five hundred] dollars [($18,500.)] ($20,000) annually as the State's
