CHAPTER 274
(House Bill 302)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 26A(g)
of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Supple-
ment), title "County Commissioners," subtitle "General Provi-
sions," correcting a certain omission in the laws relating to county
commissioners.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 26A(g) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Supplement), title "County Commissioners," subtitle "Gen-
eral Provisions," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

26A.

(g) The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments op-
erating under the provisions of this section shall be entitled to receive
State financial support to assist it in carrying out its activities on
the basis of fifty per centum of the per capita contributions of the
participating Maryland governments in the council; provided, how-
ever, that the State contribution shall not exceed an amount equal
to the sum computed on the basis of three thousand two hundred
dollars ($3,200) for each fifty thousand (50,000) persons residing in
the participating Maryland governments in the council. This amount
shall be included in the annual State budget and shall be subject to
review by the General Assembly.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 275
(House Bill 303)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1 of
Article 39C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Supplement),
title "Statute of Frauds," correcting a certain error in the laws
relating to the Statute of Frauds.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1 of Article 39C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Supplement), title "Statute of Frauds," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

1.

All corporeal [estate] estates, leasehold or freehold, or incorporeal
interests in land made or created by parol and not in writing and
signed by the party so making or creating the same, or his agent
