CHAPTER 266
(House Bill 173)
AN ACT to add new Section 132(d) to Article 43 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Health,"
subtitle "Practitioners of Medicine," to follow immediately after
Section 132(c) thereof, to provide that CERTAIN MEMBERS
OF the National Ski Patrol Service SYSTEM shall not be
liable, UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES, for civil dam-
ages for emergency treatment at or near the scene of an accident
as the result of a professional act or omission not amounting to
gross negligence.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 132(d) be and it is hereby added to Article 43
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume),
title "Health," subtitle "Practitioners of Medicine," to follow im-
mediately after Section 132(c) thereof, and to read as follows:
132.
(d) A member of the National Ski Patrol Service SYSTEM shall
not be liable for HAVE THE SAME IMMUNITY FROM CIVIL
damages as provided in subsection (a) hereof, if the member has
completed an advanced Red Cross or equivalent course in first aid
approved by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the public health and safety and having been passed by a yea
and nay vote supported by three fifths of all the members elected to
each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
SHALL TAKE EFFECT ON JULY 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 267
(House Bill 186)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 71A of
Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Supplement),
title "Courts," subtitle "Special Powers in Juvenile Causes," to
provide that a juvenile judge may find the parent of a juvenile
responsible to the particular governmental agency for the juvenile's
malicious destruction to public property or require the juvenile
himself to make restitution, AND TO PROVIDE THE SAME
PROVISIONS WITH RESPECT TO ANY BUSINESS ENTITY.
