1,500 hours training, or serve as an apprentice in an approved beauty-
shop for a period of not less than two years, [provided, however, that
the Board may permit a person to take an examination without the
prior studentship herein required if such person shall establish, to
the satisfaction of the Board, that he or she has been an operator in
the active practice of beauty culture for at least twenty-four months
within the five years next preceding June 1, 1947.]
(b) Certificate as a demonstrator.—No person shall be permitted
to [take an examination to act as a demonstrator who shall not have
had all the qualifications necessary to become an operator] receive a
demonstrator's license unless certified operator credentials are pre-
sented along with an application for the license to this Board.
(c) Certificates as senior and junior managers.—No person who
has obtained a license as an operator after serving two years as an
apprentice in an approved beauty shop, shall be permitted to take an
examination to act as a senior manager unless such person shall be
at least eighteen years of age and has had two years' experience as
an operator in a beauty shop.
No [other] person shall be permitted to take an examination to act
as a junior manager of a beauty shop unless such person shall be at
least eighteen years of age and has had at least 2,000 hours in a duly
registered school of beauty culture inclusive of the studies necessary
to become an operator and unless the person has received a certificate
as an operator pursuant to Sub-Section (a) of this section. No junior
manager shall be permitted to take an examination to act as a senior
manager unless such person has had twelve months' experience work-
ing as a junior manager. [Provided, however, that on or before
October 1, 1947, any licensed operator who had eighteen months'
experience shall, on application, be issued a senior manager license
without examination.]
549. Examination and registration fees.
All examination fees shall be five dollars ($5.00), and the regis-
tration fees for the issuance of licenses, with or without examination,
shall be as follows:
(a) [Ten dollars ($10.00)] Twenty dollars ($20.00) for beauty
shop owners, managers and teachers, annual renewal fee of twenty
dollars ($20.00).
(b) [Two dollars ($2.00)] Five dollars ($5.00) for operators,
manicurists and demonstrators, annual renewal fee of five dollars
($5.00).
(c) [One dollar ($1.00)] Two dollars ($2.00) for students and
apprentices, annual renewal fee of two dollars ($2.00).
(d) [Ten dollars ($10.00)] Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for
electrologists and [twenty-five dollars ($25.00] thirty-five dollars
($35.00) as examination fee for electrologists, the examination to be
given by a physician to be appointed by the Board, annual renewal
fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
(e) [Fifty dollars ($50.00)] One hundred dollars ($100.00) for
schools of beauty culture. Public and parochial schools, however, are
hereby declared to be exempted from the payment of any license fees,
