AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 11-1108
of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Re-
placement Volume), title "Vehicle Laws," subtitle "Subtitle 11
Rules of the Road," subheading "Part XL Miscellaneous Rules,"
to amend the vehicle laws relating to coasting by certain vehicles.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 11-1108 of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Vehicle Laws," sub-
title "Subtitle 11 Rules of the Road," subheading "Part XL Miscel-
laneous Rules," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
11-1108.
(a) The driver of any motor vehicle when traveling upon a down
grade shall not coast with the gears or transmission of [the] such
vehicle in neutral.
(b) The driver of a [commercial motor vehicle] truck or bus
when traveling upon a down grade shall not coast with the clutch
disengaged.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 108
(Senate Bill 681)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 11-404.1
of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Vehicle Laws," subtitle "Rules of the Road,"
subheading "Part IV. Right of Way," to repeal Section 11-601 of
said article, title and subtitle, subheading "Part VI. Turning and
Starting; Signals on Stopping, Turning and Starting," and to
enact in lieu thereof new Section 11-601 to said article, title, sub-
title and subheading, specifying the prescribed manner of making
a left turn at crossover, simplifying the required position and
method of turning at intersections, and relating generally to left
and right turns.

That Section 11-404.1 of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Vehicle Laws," sub-
title "Rules of the Road," subheading "Part IV. Right of Way," be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, that Sec-
tion 11-601 of said article, title and subtitle, subheading "Part VI.
Turning and Starting; Signals on Stopping, Turning and Starting,"
be and it is hereby repealed, and that new Section 11-601 be and it
