21.108    Failure To Obey Summons

Upon failure of the person summonsed to appear in court as specified
or to pay the stipulated fine as noted on the summons, a notice shall be
mailed to him granting a new date of trial. Should the person so notified
fail to appear in compliance with the notice or pay stipulated fine, a
warrant may be issued for his arrest by a Judge of the People's Court
for Howard County.

21.109    Failure To Obey Summons—Penalty

The failure to obey a summons duly issued in accordance with the pro-
visions of this Act shall be deemed a misdemeanor subject to a fine of
Twenty Dollars ($20.00) upon conviction by the People's Court of Howard
County.

Section 2. And be it further enacted by the County Council of Howard
County, Maryland,
That this Act shall take effect sixty (60) days after
it stands enacted.

This Bill, having been approved by the Executive and returned to the
Council, stands enacted on March 8, 1971.

An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1.117 J.C.
of Title 1 of the Howard County Code, title "Administration"; sub-
title "Personnel" providing for Holiday leave for County employees.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Howard County,
Maryland,
That Section 1.117 J.C. of Title 1 of the Howard County Code,
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

C. All County Employees in the classified service will be paid for the
following holidays, provided said holiday falls on an otherwise scheduled
work day:

THE FIRST DAY OF JANUARY, KNOWN AS New Years Day;
THE THIRD MONDAY IN FEBRUARY, KNOWN AS Washington's
Birthday; THE 12th DAY OF FEBRUARY KNOWN AS Lincoln's Birth-
day; Good Friday; THE 25th DAY OF MARCH KNOWN AS Maryland
Day; July 4th THE 4th DAY OF JULY KNOWN AS INDEPENDENCE
DAY; THE FIRST MONDAY IN SEPTEMBER, KNOWN AS Labor Day;
THE SECOND MONDAY IN OCTOBER, KNOWN AS Columbus Day;
THE FOURTH MONDAY IN OCTOBER, KNOWN AS Veteran's Day;
THE FOURTH THURSDAY IN NOVEMBER, KNOWN AS Thanksgiving
Day; THE 25th DAY OF DECEMBER AS Christmas Day; THE LAST
MONDAY IN MAY KNOWN AS Memorial Day; THE 12th DAY OF SEP-
TEMBER KNOWN AS Defenders Day; or any day declared a holiday by
the County Executive.

Section 2. And be it further enacted by the County Council of Howard
County, Maryland,
That this Act shall take effect sixty (60) days after
its enactment.
