Bill No. 145-70

AN ORDINANCE to add new Section 1-216(c) to the Anne Arundel
of Bill No. 88-70, changing the effective date of the provisions of
said Bill.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland, That new Section 1-216(c) be and it is hereby
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

Section 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
ordinance shall take effect on the beginning day of the weekly and
bi-weekly payroll periods immediately following OCTOBER [8] 4,
1970.

Section 3. And be it further enacted, That this Ordinance shall
take effect forty-five (45) days from the date it becomes law.

AN ORDINANCE to add new Section 1-216(c) to the Anne Arundel
County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements as amended by
Bill No. 88-70), Title 1, "Administration", Subtitle 2, "Personnel",
Article II, "Classified Service", to follow immediately after Section
1-216(b) thereof, to increase the compensation of certain County
employees.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland, That new Section 1-216(c) be and it is hereby
added to the Anne Arundel County Code, (1967 Edition and Supple-
ments as amended by Bill No. 88-70), Title 1, "Administration",
Subtitle 2, "Personnel", Article II, "Classified Service", to follow
immediately after Section 1-216 (b) thereof, to read as follows:

Section 1-216.

(c) Every employee included among the pay grades set forth in
subsections (a) and (b) of this Section shall receive a five percent
(5%) pay increase over and above the rate of compensation which
said employees were receiving as of October 4, 1970.

Section 2. And be it further enacted, That this Ordinance shall
take effect forty-five (45) days from the date it becomes law, provided
that the provisions thereof shall be applied retroactively to weekly
and bi-weekly pay periods next succeeding October 4, 1970.
